WO 2 (Retired) Robert H.M. 'Army' Armstrong, CD

ARMSTRONG.Robert Herbert Martin "Army"- Peacefully at Cassellhome, North Bay on Saturday May 19th, 2007 while in his 91st year. Bob was the dedicated and loving husband, for 56 years of Linday May (Wheatly) who predeceased him in 2005. The proud and loving father of Bob (Sherrylee) of North Bay and Brenda Williamson (Grant) of Grande Prairie, Alberta. He will be lovingly remembered by his granddaughters Diana and Kathryn, and is also survived by his sister Violet Sheyn (late George) of California. Bob was a veteran of WW11 and served in the Air Force from 1941 intill retiring in 1968 as the Chief of the fire department at CFB North Bay. A firefighter by training he left the air the air force with thw rank of WO11. He continued his service to his country as a civilian employee of DND from 1969 to 1975 then joined the Corps of Commissionaires in 1978 An enthusiastic golfer Bob has been a member of the North Bay Golf and Country Club since 1963. Winters were spent skiing and he particated with the ski patrol at Laurentian Ski Club untill the young age of 80. He also found time to operate a small vending machine business and was fondly remembered as the candy man. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to share memories and remember Bob during a reception to be held at Cassellhome on Wed. afternoon from 1:30-4:00 pm If desired donations to the Alzheimers Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully Acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
