SGT William Bruce Campbell, CD, RCAF,
Ret., age 72 of Everett,WA, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2003.He was born August 12, 1931 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the son of Charles H. and Ivy Bartlett Campbell. Bill served in the RCAF from 1949 to 1969. He married Barbara Hope Pearson April 15, 1953. He worked for the RCAF Fire Department until retirement, Snohomish County Airport Fire Chief, volunteer Firefighter District 11 and the Commissioner of Snohomish from 1985 until 1997. He was president of Snohomish Isle Commissioners for two terms, WFCA for 12 years and RCAF association. he was the first EMT of District 11. Bill's career in the fire service spanned 48 years.
He enjoyed golf and his grandchildren.Bill is survived by his wife Barbara; three sons, Charles Campbell (Josie) of Everett, David Campbell (Annie) of Modesto, CA and Ken Campbell (Bridget) of Kansas City, KS; one daughter Chris Kammerer of Everett; nine grandchildren, Mike, Melissa, Matthew, Jeremy, Kristopher, Brock, Charles, Brennan and Jason; and his god-daughter Helen Arndt of Ft. Walton beach, FL. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Gordon Campbell, and sister Joan James. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 8th at the Solie Funeral Home Chapel, 3301 Colby Ave., Everett. A time of visitation will be held Friday, November 7th from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Snohomish County Fire Department 1, 12310 Meridian Ave, Everett, WA.
