Chief Warrant Officer Bob Edwards career spanned 36 years. He held the rank of CWO for 21 years. A few of his highlights:

- Fire Prevention Officer Tactical Air Group H.Q.   Edmonton 1949 - 1950.
- Superintendent R.C.A.F. Fire School , Aylmer ON 1955 -1957.
- Assistant Command Fire Marshall, Trenton, ON. 1957 - 1959.
 - Winnipeg, MB. 1959 - 1967.
 - Last but not least , Technical Specialist NDHQ 1967 - 1976

He found time to run up a string of courses as long as your arm and a couple of side trips around the world. He went to work in the Dominion Fire Commissioner’s  Office. Chief Warrant Officer Bob Edwards passed away in August 1988.
