FORRESTALL, James Vincent de Paul
Age 65 of Mineville, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully in the QEII VG Site, Saturday, February 9, 2008. Born in St. Martha’s Hospital, Antigonish, he was
the son of the late James and Hilda (Buckley) Forrestall. He grew up in Mulgrave, N.S., moved to Yarmouth, then attended the monastery for his high school education. He
joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served 34 proud years as a firefighter and retired in Halifax as sergeant in 1997. He served in CFB Greenwood, N.S., Portage La
Prairie, Manitoba, Summerside, P.E.I., and Comox, B.C., before retiring in Halifax. Upon retirement he served as a commissioner at the QEII Halifax Infirmary. He was a
member of the Knights of Columbus in Comox and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by his beloved wife Carol (Martell) Forrestall; daughter, Angela
Forrestall of Halifax; son, Vincent Joseph (Carolyn) of New Minas, N.S.; granddaughter, June O’Hanley, P.E.I.; sister, Patricia Forrestall of Lower Sackville;
stepchildren, Karen Outerleys (Philippe) of Centreville; Debbie (Dave) Schurman of Oakville, Ontario; step grandchildren, Sarah, Jereme, Samantha, Katie and Emma. He was
predeceased by his first wife, Carol Ann (Muise) Forrestall; sister, Janet. Visitation 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, where a
Legion service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral mass will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, in St. John Vianney RC Church. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Reception
