Corporal Gordon Emmerson Harpell, CD (Retired) 

HARPELL, Gordon Emmerson, CD - 77, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2006, at home, with his wife, Cassie, by his side. Born March 29, 1928, in Jeddore, he was the son of the late Everett and Pearl Harpell. Gordon was a very patriotic man who served 20 years in the RCAF at various air force stations across Canada. He also served 21 years with Insurance Advisory Organization and another 10 years with them as a private consultant. Gordon's family was his pride and joy. He was a devoted husband with undying love for his wife, Cassie, for 57 years. Gordon was also a member of Faith Tabernacle Church, Halifax. He was dearly loved and will be missed by his wife, Cassie; daughter, Sharon (Barry) Slauenwhite, London, Ont.; sons, Gary, Dartmouth, and Stephen, Halifax; grandchildren, Karen Harpell, Toronto, Ont.; Krista Buck (Slauenwhite), London, Ont.; Jeffrey Harpell, Dartmouth; Heather Slauenwhite, London, Ont.; and Jason Harpell, Dartmouth. Gordon was predeceased by sister, Edna Harpell. Funeral arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Spryfield (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 24, at 2 p.m. in Faith Tabernacle Church with Pastor John Cheney officiating.
