FLECK, Lloyd Raymond
Lloyd Fleck, 65, South Branch,
passed away September 11, 2010, in Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital. Born
in Truro, he was a son of the late Raymond and Gertrude (Levy) Fleck. Lloyd was
a talented man who gave freely to all who needed. He loved his family and his
children and grand children were very important to him. Lloyd loved working in
his woodlot, his sawmill, woodworking shop and giving a hand to his neighbours.
All who knew him would remember his big smile and sense of humour. He was very
active in volunteering in many organizations. He played in bands here at home
and in Yuma, Arizona. He loved listening to country music, especially his
favorite, Johnny Cash. He served his country in the Royal Canadian Air Force and
the Canadian Forces, retiring as a Logistics Officer. His tours of duty included
peacekeeping in Egypt and with the United States Army Headquarters in Bayonne,
New Jersey. He was proud to be a Mason and was an active Shriner. He will be
sadly missed by his wife of 43 years, the former Donna Stewart; son, Todd,
Trenton, Ontario; daughter, Jannis Sanford, Alton; his seven grand children;
siblings, Vera Tattrie, Janet Jones, Charlene Dash, Sandy and Paul Fleck, Elsie
White; many close friends in the military, the Masonic Order in Yuma, across
Canada and in Nova Scotia. Visitation will be today 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. in
South Branch Church. A Masonic service followed by a Legion tribute will begin
at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Knox United Church,
Brookfield, with Reverand Larry Harrison officiating. Burial to follow in South
Branch Cemetary. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to South Branch
Church Building Fund or Shriners Hospital for children. Arrangements under the
