WO Lloyd Mills, CD

Lloyd Mills 67, Halls Harbour, Kings Co., passed away peacefully, Friday, November 6, 2009, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, Nova Scotia, with his loving family by his side. Born in Milton, Queens Co., he was a son of the late Ivan and Ruth (Wolfe) Mills. Lloyd was a firefighter with the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Canadian Forces for 27 years, where he served in Germany and across Canada. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Elaine, for whom he cared for and loved for 40 years; daughters, Bernice Wilson, Thunder Bay, Ont.; Wendy (Steve) Rethy, Dartmouth and Janice (Brian) Hodgkinson, Dartmouth; brother, Robert (Merna), Truro; grandchildren, Sheena-dawn, Karson, Brittany, Krystal, Jasmine; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Gab-reall and Kendra. He was predeceased by brother, Barry. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held this evening (Monday) from 7-9 p.m., where Kentville Royal Canadian Legion Brnach No. 6 will hold a tribute service at 7:30 p.m., both from Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook (679-2822). A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 10 in Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, Coldbrook, Rev. Gerald Zinck assisted by Rev. Michael Shreve officiating. Family interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. A reception will follow in Centreville Community Hall, Centreville. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lloyd may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association, or Multiple Sclerosis Society, Atlantic Division.
