FR Ronald James McNeil

.McNEIL, Ronald James - Arrived October 19, 1922, departed November 15, 2006. Messages from Dad: "Don't cry for me - I have had a great life and a long one." "If I am remembered for anything, I hope it is for helping others." He served overseas during the Second World War. He was a firefighter for 36 years, retiring as Deputy Chief, DND Fire Service. He was also Past Regional Governor, Toastmasters International. He was a jack-of-all-trades, master of most, a fisherman, woodcrafter and photographer. He was a loving and caring husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and friend. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Jean (Montgomerie). He is survived by sons, Doug (Valerie) and Bob (Nancy); grandchildren, Chris (Lorie), Suzanne, and Laura; special friend, Marie McIsaac; brothers, Dugger (Marian), Jack (Peggy), Frank. He was also predeceased by his father, James; mother, Mary (LaPierre); brother, Bob; sisters, Marian, Jean, and Patsy. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 20, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax. Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, in St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Dutch Village Road. Donations may be made to Foster Parents of Canada. E-mail condolences:
