FR Ernest Clyde 'Ernie'

MOSHER, Ernest Clyde "Ernie" - 86, Dartmouth, formerly of Lower Sackville and Eastern Passage. After a few difficult weeks, Ernie passed away on the evening of Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in 3A-ICU, VG Site, QEII, Halifax, with family by his side. Born on February 16, 1922, in Hants County, he was a son of the late Frederick and Sylvia (Pearl) Mosher. In his earlier years, Ernie was a member of the West Nova Scotia Regiment and served overseas from 1939-1945, in Italy and in the liberation of Holland. Later on, he retired from the Department of National Defense as Deputy Fire Inspector. Ernie was an avid fisherman, a long-time member of Hartlen Point Golf Club, and a lifelong Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He was also part of the Royal Canadian Legion and finally, a very faithful member of St. John Vianney Church, Lower Sackville. Ernie was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary "Grace", in 2005; and sisters, Violet, Helen and Eva (all of Toronto). He is survived by and will be forever missed by his brother, Everett (Betty) Mosher, Toronto; daughters, Judith (Sam) Mercer, Sussex, N.B., and Anita Mosher, Red Deer, Alta.; sons, Terrance (Nancy) Mosher, Dartmouth, and Blaine (Karen) Mosher, Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Rachael, Shawn, Sarah-Jane, Dean, Hannah, Jennifer, and Shane; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Aidan, Ella, Benjamin, Callum, Samuel, Lucy, Olivia, and Thomas. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all of the staff of 6A-Thoracic Surgery and 3A-ICU, VG Site, QEII, for their expertise, kindness and support during the past three weeks. Cremation will take place under the care of Donald K. Walker Funeral Directors Ltd., Dartmouth (469-5601). There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held in St. John Vianney Church, Lower Sackville, at 10 a.m. Monday. Donations may be made to St. John Vianney Church
