Harold Sidney Oliver - 69, Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, formerly of Parkers Cove, passed away April 13, 2007. Born October
14, 1937, in Parkers Cove, he was a son of the late Elwood Fletcher and Kathleen (Guest) Oliver. Harold scallop fished out of Digby during his younger years. He then
worked for Standard Paving and following that, commenced working at CFB Cornwallis where he held positions as cleaner, laborer, storesman, and the last few years as
firefighter. He worked at CFB Cornwallis for 25 years, retiring in 1993 when the base closed. He enjoyed collecting hockey cards, comic books and model cars and trucks
until his sight became such that he could no longer pursue these hobbies. He spent considerable time with his dogs, Brandi, Koko and Kuddles. He is survived by his wife,
the former Ina Marshall; daughters, Barbara Goreham and Krista, Bridgetown; son, Hal (Jane), Digby; grandchildren, Jesse, Tim, Shea, Brett, Samantha, Craig, Nickolas, and
Lucas; brother, Floyd (Ruby); sisters, Ella (Scottie) McGilchrist, Viola (Glen) Potter, Maxine (Ronald) Hudson, Joan Corkum, Marie (Kenneth) Atwell, Lorraine (Clayton)
Ells; sisters-in-law, Rae Oliver, Ardith Oliver, and Pauline Oliver; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was
predeceased by brothers, Garnet, Elwood "Bud", Kenneth, and a brother in infancy. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in Parkers Cove United Baptist Church with Pastor Bruce Kaizer officiating. Interment will be in Parkers Cove Cemetery. Family flowers only. A special thank you is extended to the staff at Mountain Lea Lodge for the wonderful care Harold received. Donations in memory may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or to a charity of one's choice.
