Corporal Paul Henry Buffett (Released)

The Ontario Medal For Firefighter Bravery - In 1998 my partner, on Hamilton's Rescue Unit 1,Gord Selinger and I received The Ontario Medal For FireFighter Bravery, for making two trips into a house fire, that had flashed over and exploded, to rescue two firefighters trapped in the basement. During the rescue my helmet was severely melted yet neither of us where burned. I honestly credit my years of training and the sense of duty I received in the Air Force, with my ability to pull off this rescue. I think it would be great if this adds to your list of awards that Military Firefighters have received, if you do not feel that it fits since I received it after leaving the military fire service I completely understand. I just thought I would let you know about it and you can decide if it is the kind of thing you'd like to include. I believe it reflects well on Military Firefighters and that is honestly why I wanted to make you aware of it.

I do have one favor to ask should you choose to include this award in your list. Please dedicate my medal to Warrant Officer Paul Bellefleur (retired). I had the privilege of serving under him in Ottawa and I believe he saw past a sometimes wild and troublesome kid and instilled values and confidence in me, that allowed me to become a better person and a successful Firefighter.

Thanks for putting so much effort and care into a great site. Your work has become an invaluable asset and a source of pride to ex Military Firefighters all over Canada.

Thank You
