Wednesday, March 12, 2008, Sam Posten passed away in the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, Veterans' Unit at the age of 93 years. Sam is survived by his wife Mary; sister
Marion Shaw; children Denis (Cheryl) and Kathleen; grandchildren Amanda and Mark; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was predeceased
by his parents Dumitru (Dan) and Florea; brothers George, John and Nick; sister Helen Staseson, Anne Witherspoon and Mary Halbwachs. Sam lived his full life in Regina
with the exception of the Second World War during which he served his country as a member of the Corps of Canadian Fire Fighters throughout the Battle of Britain. Upon
his discharge in 1945 he returned to Regina. Sam was known to many from his days as proprietor of the "Lindsay Lucky Dollar Store," from his years as a member of the
custodial staff at the University of Regina and for his proud years of service with The Canadian Corps of Commissionaires for which he primarily worked at the National
Defence Regina Armoury and Queen Building. The family thanks the personnel at the Wascana for the tender care received these past years. A CELEBRATION OF SAM'S LIFE will
be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, 2180 23rd Avenue, Regina, SK S4S 0A5. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made in Sam's memory to the Veterans' Unit 3-6 Wascana Rehab or to a charity of your choice. Family and friends are invited to sign a book of condolences online at
