WO1 (Retired) Ronald Soulard, CD

Soulard Aurele Real “Ronald” of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away on Wednesday, April 11th, 2007. Ronald was born on February 6th, 1929 to Albertine and Eugene Soulard, and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. He joined the RCAF as a firefighter and married our late mother Georgie Beaudoin. Together they raised a family and were transferred to military bases across Canada: Calgary, AB, Debert, NS, Downsview, ON, Summerside, PEI, Shearwater, NS, Trenton, ON, Bagotville, QE, and his final posting to Moose Jaw was as CWO Base Fire Chief, where he and mom retired. Dad loved camping and we spent many hours in the boat fishing for Bass and catfish or digging clams on the island. Ronald was a handyman, and always had a wood working project on the go. He never used plans or a blueprint. He would light up a cigar to contemplate how his project should proceed. Productivity was slow but tobacco sales were good. He was an excellent public speaker and could tell many stories and jokes. Ronald was predeceased by his loving wife Georgie Soulard. He was the loving father of ANDRE Soulard, REINA (Doug) Foord, PAULETTE (Randy) Robar, PAUL (Roxanne) Soulard, JEANETTE (Duane) Boosamra; ever loved by his grandchildren: Norman Soulard, Jay Hastings, Sherry Burke, Andy Foord, Robyn O’Meara, Adam Robar, Ron Soulard, Denyce Boosamra, and Candyce Boosamra; his great-grandchildren: Braiden, Jordan, Gracie, and Claire; and remembered by many dear friends. Honouring our father’s wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be forwarded to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 2360 - 2nd Ave., Regina, SK S4R 1A6. Arrangements are entrusted to Parkview Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services, Moose Jaw (694-5500). www.parkviewfhmoosejaw.com
